Favorite Tulane class/professor...

is Pompeii: Life in a Roman Town with Prof. Allison Emmerson. It's an incredibly thought-provoking and fascinating class, covering many aspects of life in Pompeii--the art and architecture, social practices, and even the food! Emmerson really challenges her students to reconsider the common notion that Pompeii is "a city frozen in time." And I can't forget to mention that she's an archaeologist who conducts research in Pompeii every summer. How cool is that?
