I chose Tulane because I felt that I would have the best opportunity to not only succeed academically but to also be involved on campus and within the New Orleans community. My entire family has attended the same large state school and I wanted a similar experience but in a unique way. Tulane is just large enough for me to feel like I'm always meeting new people while also being small enough that new acquaintances almost always have mutual friends. Tulane worked with me on a very personal basis to make the tuition affordable and the city has proved to be much more then just a college town, but a place that has its own authentic culture and identity.
I enjoy trying new restaurants every weekend and my favorite past time is hanging out in Audubon Park in a hammock (eno) with a good book in hand.
My favorite professor is my major advisor Chris Rodning. He is an anthropologist with a focus in the archaeology of the southeastern United States. He is truly the role model for all that I hope to be one day!
I really enjoy Po Boy Fest on Oak Street that happens every fall. Wonderful food, live music, and great company always makes for an awesome time in New Orleans.
