There are so many!! To name a few: Mojo Coffee House on Freret, the Fly, Cafe Luna on Magazine, and Mint Vietnamese on Freret.
I chose Tulane initially based on academics (it had my majors, I could change majors no problem, it was prestigious etc.), but when I visited during Destination Tulane, the St. Patricks Day parade was happening...... What an insane experience. After that parade and all of my interactions with the local New Orleanians, I knew I could not pass up the opportunity to live in this amazing city for four years!
Voodoo Fest is the best ever. So much cheaper than other festivals and always an amazing lineup...PLUS YOU GET TO WEAR COSTUMES!
Gender and Sexuality with Claire Sheller was the best class I have taken at Tulane thus far. I thought I was a feminist before I took this class and it completely changed my outlook on the world. Honestly, I think Gender and Sexuality should be required for all undergrad students because it teaches you empathy and how to approach the amazing and dynamic world around you.
