Roll Wave! Coming from the post-Katrina era south this motto has a different meaning for me. Tulane is known for its location in the heart of The Big Easy. What I find appealing is not simply Tulane’s location, but the fact it’s inseparable from and inspired by its community. Following Hurricane Katrina, Tulane’s students and professors exemplified resilience and utter love for their community. This community dedication inspires my desire to attend Tulane. With NOLA’s 6.6% foreign-born population, my joy would be to help those citizens find their place in the Crescent City. Through all of these efforts, I strive to craft my purpose through dedication to my community. Knowing that while waves may roll, it is through collective community resilience that we weather whatever storms we may face.
