My favorite NOLA festival is Beignet Festival. I think this is pretty self-explantory: it's a whole day dedicated to beignets. (Ps-- get the bread pudding beignet. 10/10 would recommend.)
My favorite New Orleans spot is the Saenger Theater downtown. Of course I appreciate it specifically as a theatre person, but aside from that, it's visually stunning and totally transportive.
I chose Tulane because it was the "just right" school of my college search. Tulane wasn't too big or too small for me. I definitely didn't want to get swallowed up at a large school, but I didn't want to feel suffocated either. Tulane walks this line perfectly.
I am currently taking Principles of Forensic Anthropology (aka bones and crime) with Dr. John Verano. The class is completely unrelated to either of my majors, so it's been a very cool departure from my normal course load. (A note: me taking this class is COMPLETELY unrelated to my love of the TV show Bones.)
