When I visited I realized that the city of New Orleans really provides you with a unique story to tell. From the food to the music to the people, the culture of the city definitely draw me in initially.
Without a doubt, Burkenroad Reports. This semester I worked with 3 other students to create a 30-page equity research report about Callon Petroleum, an oil and gas company in West Texas. We had the chance to go out to Natchez, MS and meet with the CEO, Fred Callon. I've never been in a class that provides such tangible experience.
The Fly for sure. Its a beautiful grassy area right on the Mississippi River. Students love to go out there on Friday and Saturday afternoons. The House of Blues is also a big favorite of mine. Its my favorite place to see concerts in New Orleans. This past semester I saw Schoolboy Q perform there.
Jazz Fest, without a doubt. An incredible music festival in early May, right before finals. Everyone from Elton John to J. Cole have performed during Jazz Fest and tickets are extremely affordable.
