I chose Tulane because of the community and welcoming presence I felt on campus. When I came to visit my older friend during my senior year of high school, each and every person I interacted with was so kind and had a genuine love for the school. I felt at ease on campus. I knew that if I chose Tulane, I could find my people and be surrounded by the same positive energy that my friend was experiencing.
I am a big foodie, but I am also celiac. Certain restaurants in the business district, like Peche and Sofia's, are some of my favorites. Sofia's has the best gluten-free pizza I have ever had. When it comes to places closer to campus, I love Satsuma and Jazmine Cafe. Last year, I think I ate chicken pho from Jazmine four times in one week, I almost wish I was exaggerating.
Crawfest, while that might be a basic Tulane answer, I had the best time. I LOVE seafood boils and crawfish, and I would drag my friends to Cajun seafood or Hot Stuff whenever I could. Crawfest was right outside my door, and I probably ate four pounds worth of crawfish.
My favorite class so far was "Brain in human life". While this class was quite a challenge, I loved every aspect of it. In this class, you learn neuroscience and the philosophical standpoints and aspects that correlate to areas of the brain, brain chemistry, and cognitive processes. It is by far the most interesting class I have taken, and I was excited to show up each day.
