My favorite class so far was a contemporary art course called Medium Matters, which looked at how artists can use different mediums to convey ideas and themes in their work. Part of the course included going to the New Orleans Museum of Art, several galleries, and down the hall from our classroom to the Newcomb Art Gallery, which brings in incredible exhibitions from artists around the world.
I love Voodoo fest in the fall and Jazz fest in the spring - they bring together amazing artists and incredible food. Where else can you see Elton John, Ed Sheeran, and Big Freedia in one afternoon??
My favorite spots are Magazine Street and Oak Street because I love food and they are filled with shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Anywhere with cheese fries is also automatically my favorite and I'm currently on a one-woman mission to try every kind of cheese fries New Orleans has to offer.
I chose Tulane because I loved the combination of being in a large, vibrant city while still having a distinct college campus with a school atmosphere. New Orleans is the perfect setting to attend college in and once I visited, I knew I had to come back for 4 more years. All of the students here further contribute to the Tulane atmosphere - it is an overall feeling of pride, camaraderie, and passion for our courses of study, our extracurricular involvements, and for the city we call home.
