I chose Tulane because of its strong commitment to community engagement. Programs like the Center for Public Health and TIDES Service Learning place the New Orleans community at the heart of the university’s mission. Tulane empowers students to apply classroom learning in real-world settings.
This is tough because there are so many incredible festivals here. Aside from Mardi Gras, I’d have to say the Krewe of Boo is my favorite. It’s a fantastic Halloween-themed parade, and honestly, Halloween in New Orleans is unlike anything else—it’s such a unique immersive experience!
My favorite Tulane professor so far is my public health professor, Professor Cropley. She brings a wealth of experience, from working in a remote village in South America to serving on a UN committee. Her knowledge is impressive, and she goes out of her way to make students feel welcome and support them in achieving their goals.
There are so many great places I could list, but honestly, I love the RiverWalk right outside the French Quarter or even a random street in the Garden District. I enjoy going for a run and exploring new parts of town—it’s always an adventure!
